The San Diego Intercollegiate Pow Wow
The San Diego Intercollegiate Pow Wow is a collaboration between the University of California: San Diego and the San Diego State University Pow Wow Committees. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed daily life and has canceled cultural practices such as gathering for a Pow Wow. For the first time, the two campuses are working together to provide a virtual Pow Wow experience to do our duty of providing this important piece of Native/Indigenous culture.

The UCSD Powwow Princess is asked to serve as a role model for Native American youth. She is a humble individual who exhibits pride in her traditional culture and should demonstrate humility, fortitude, and respect for herself, her people, and the Native American community. The UC San Diego Powwow Princess aims to represent all Native American students with a commitment to higher education and shall represent UC San Diego specifically. The UC San Diego Princess will be crowned prior to Saturday, May 1st prior to the SDSU/UCSD Virtual Powwow She will be honored with a UC San Diego princess crown and sash, as well as a $1000 scholarship at the end of her reign.
